Biz dev champion: brief
Biz dev champion: brief
TL;DR. We'd like you to champion biz dev: keep our outbound and proposal work running every week, and help the group get good at it. In practice that means running a weekly Friday biz dev day from 9 October, keeping the pipeline numbers visible, and owning a shared target list. It is not a management role, and it doesn't mean doing all the outreach yourself.
Why
- Biz dev is our constraint. New work only comes from outbound and proposals, and today that happens in bursts between delivery work.
- It's also how people grow. Without new engagements, nobody has anything new to lead.
- Why you. You bring the range this needs: organising, strategy, and ease with people. You also have some capacity to take it on.
The role
- Run the Friday biz dev day for Ola, João, Monika, Luccas and you: one short sync, then coworking.
- Keep the flow visible: targets, PoCs, messages, replies, conversations, qualified leads. Ask each week where it's getting stuck.
- Own the shared target list in Twenty, with one owner per target.
- Over time, turn what works into templates and skills.
Not: doing all the outreach yourself, managing people, or pricing (Anuar owns pricing).
First four Fridays
| Friday | focus |
|---|---|
| 9 Oct | Kick off; everyone confirms where they stand; agree the target list approach |
| 16 Oct | Targets assigned in Twenty; first PoCs started (half a day each) |
| 23 Oct | First outreach sent; first numbers |
| 30 Oct | Review with Rufus: is it running constantly? |
Support: Anuar (prospecting tool, Twenty, pricing) and Rufus (the review). Fridays are protected; champion time beyond that is to agree.
