[DEPRECATED] Accelerating the e2e operator transition

An assessment and diagnosis 2026-09-27 — Deprecated 2026-09-28. Useful starting input, now superseded by README and the LTP analysis. Kept because the LTP cites its lines as sources. Some notes are out of date, e.g. João is not reluctant to lead (inaccurate).

Situation

• Datopian is moving from traditional roles to an end-to-end operator model, where one person, working with agents, runs work across the whole lifecycle from outreach to renewal.
• We've started the operator work sessions with about 8 colleagues and demoed Workgraph: Daniela, Osahon, Monika, Joao, Ola, Luccas (Anu)

• What is happening since with those 8?
  • Osahon: Uses standard LLMs like ChatGPT but isn't yet comfortable enough with AI tools to work end-to-end, and sits in the early levels of the AI-maturity diagram.
  • Monika: A heavy AI user who now handles design (Open Design), contracts, quotes, proposals, and sales meetings on her own, bringing you in only when needed. She's doing well but isn't running full end-to-end yet.
  • Daniela: The first to use PortalJS Arc on her own, building a strong, fully functional PoC for a Swiss canton to support her partner outreach, and she's now following up with the Swiss partners. She's the closest to end-to-end, and closing and delivering a deal would complete the loop.
  • Lucas: Carries a heavy client load across several projects, so his progress is less visible to you. He seems hesitant to step up and lead the client teams he sits in, even though he's well placed to operate end-to-end.
  • João: Is in the same position as Lucas, with multiple client assignments and reluctance to take the lead within existing teams. He has already proven he can do it by taking a PortalJS project in Canada from start to production, where it now runs smoothly.
  • Ola: Works only on Flowshare/DataHub products, mostly through local AI-assisted development, with no client or sales work. She tried Workgraph but ran into many issues, so she isn't set up for end-to-end now, though she may adopt it more once Workgraph is fully working.
• What is the relation of Workgraph to e2e?
  • End-to-end doesn't strictly depend on Workgraph. => let’s ignore for this SCQ
  • João took the Canada project to production before Workgraph existed, and Daniela is building PoCs with PortalJS Arc directly.
  • Without it, though, end-to-end depends on individual heroics: it's invisible to you, hard to repeat, and limited by each person's local setup. Tell me more … (or maybe we need a better description of what an e2e operator is doing …)

Complication

• There is some shift but don’t feel anyone is e2e – basically adoption is slow …
  • Don’t really know what e2e means in a clearly defined and assessable way …
  • Relatedly, may be that some people have the skills/interest to step up AI use wise but not people wise (e.g. Lucas)
• That means we are still delivering a bit old style
• Which means we aren’t as efficient or effective (??)
